About Cindy Reno

Since graduating with my BSW from Western Illinois University in 1989, I have worked with a private organization called Aunt Martha's Youth Services in their foster care program. I acted as both a case manager and a manager during the 6 years I worked there. I then moved into the field of consulting and worked for Chrysalis Consulting Group assisting foster care/residential agencies serving DCFS wards in becoming Medicaid certified to bill for services. This position afforded me the opportunity to travel nationally to observe programs serving ILDCFS wards. After taking time off to raise my own children, I began working at SouthSTAR Services (now called New Star after merging with another organization called New Hope). New Star is an agency serving children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities. During my 14.5 years at this organization, I have worked in the Development Department writing grants, and quarterly newsletters, and actively fundraising by organizing and running several events each year. I eventually transferred out of this department and began supervising the case management team of the Home-Based, and Community Day Services Programs. During my time at this agency, I have also supervised the Community Day Services Program, Transportation, and AmeriCorps. As of January 6, 2023, I am retired. I have become a Florida snow bird.
