About Cindy Thai

Currently, I am an academic advisor at the University of Maryland Global Campus, based in Japan. My role allows me to provide students with information on academic requirements needed for degree completion, help students plan for future graduate study or a career, and serve as a resource person. Working with both active duty service members stationed here and Japanese citizens, I hope to help to them in their academic endeavors. I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with my bachelors in Physiology and Neurobiology in 2019. During my time as an undergraduate student, I had the opportunity to volunteer for multiple organizations in the DC Metropolitan area in which my interests encompassed the education of children and alleviating food insecurity in local communities. I have familiarized myself with numerous lab techniques working in a research lab focused on antibiotic resistance. I served as a undergraduate teaching assistant for microbiology and neurobiology labs in which I directed lab sections through lesson plans and lab protocols. During my time working as a medical assistant and scribe, I acquired experiences and skills that allowed me to absorb and apply numerous policies and procedures encompassing health and wellness, with the goal of delivering efficient, quality patient care.
