About Ciylaia Dew

I am a dedicated and adaptable professional with a diverse background that includes military service, law enforcement, and international education. My eight years in the United States Marine Corps honed my leadership and organizational skills, as I effectively led teams and managed complex tasks under pressure. This experience instilled in me a strong sense of discipline, resilience, and commitment to service. Transitioning to law enforcement in California, I further developed my ability to communicate effectively and build trust within the community. My role as a police officer provided invaluable experience in conflict resolution and critical thinking, skills that I now bring into the classroom. As an educator abroad, currently teaching middle school social studies in Okinawa, Japan, I foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment, drawing on my rich life experiences to connect with my students. I am passionate about cultural exchange and empowering young minds, committed to inspiring the next generation to become informed, thoughtful, and active global citizens. My multifaceted background allows me to approach challenges with a unique perspective, making me an asset in any educational setting.
