About Claire Bailey

I studied for my first degree whilst bringing up my daughter and this taught me a LOT about time management, prioritisation and resilience. I have always worked in education, beginning my career as an administrator in Higher and Further Education settings. I studied alongside these roles, completing a Masters in Literature, as well as counselling and adult teaching courses. I took these transferable skills into my teaching career and am still using them now! After completing my PGCE, I worked as an English Teacher for 7 years, moving into middle management as a Head of Department and, later, moving into Senior Leadership. During this time in school, I worked on literacy initiatives, led whole-school CPD, coached and mentored new and existing staff and designed curricula for KS3 - 5. I enjoyed supporting all staff to develop their practice to support them to excel in their roles. This lead to my current role: supporting, mentoring and training teacher trainees for Ark Teacher Training. I am dedicated to all pupils receiving the great quality education that they deserve and, whilst I may no longer be delivering that education myself, I am very happy to be investing my time and effort in the next generation of teachers.
