About Claire Delmonte

With a passion for cross-cultural understanding and a strong desire to make a difference, I have worked for global nonprofits like Save the Children and the Open Society Foundations after graduating from college in 2008. At these organizations, I learned a lot about nonprofit organizational management, strategic planning, and working across time-zones and cultures. In September 2011, I moved to Vienna, Austria. There, I took advantage of my time by learning German to level B2, and enhanced my intercultural skills and ability to adapt to new situations. Upon my return to the U.S. in 2012, I began volunteering at the EquiCenter, a nonprofit therapeutic equestrian facility, where in 2013, I accepted the position of Associate Director of Advancement. In my tenure at EquiCenter, I honed my communication skills, having to garner support for the EquiCenter to a broad constituency of donors, volunteers, and community leaders. I realized however, that my passion remained in the international sector and therefore in January 2015, I began a master's program in Higher Education, focusing in international education and from 2016-2019, worked as a Program Specialist for Rochester Institute of Technology as the Program Specialist for Education Abroad & International Fellowships.
