About Claire Fraser

I develop, implement, and evaluate higher education research policy with the aim to create and sustain the conditions for a healthy research system in English universities. I am responsible for the delivery and oversight of Research England’s portfolio of work relating to responsible research assessment (RRA). I lead Research England’s contribution to global initiatives on RRA and metascience. My responsibilities include managing the secretariat for the Global Research Council’s working group on RRA. Here I collaborate with colleagues from 23 international funding agencies, notably NSERC and KACST. I am a visiting fellow on ‘A Global Observatory on RRA’ RoRI project, making substantial contributions to international policy development focusing on National Research Assessment systems like the Research Excellence Framework (REF).
