Co-editing "The Smithfield Review," writing articles about Tech history, serving on the Council on Virginia Tech History, writing and editing books and Virginia Tech biomarkers, conducting research and writing historical text, and giving presentations on different aspects of Virginia Tech history comprise my most recent professional experience. Overall, professional experience includes writing and editing the gamut of publications, including books; managing editors, writers, and graphic designers and their projects; chairing and co-chairing college and university anniversary committees; working with publishers and printers; giving presentations on historical topics and grammar; writing speeches for administrators; and directing operations of the university publications unit for Virginia Tech. Primary professional goals are to produce interesting, accurate publications; to educate people about the history of Virginia Tech and the region west of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia and surrounding states; and to give informative and interesting presentations.
