About Clara Petry

I am an aspiring environmental scientist looking to gain experience in Massachusetts or New Hampshire #opentowork. I have always had a passion for learning how the world works around me and an interest in earth sciences. I find ways to connect my work and hobbies in the real world to my education and the environment. People would describe me as hardworking, smart, kind, honest, and ambitious. I hold a B.S. in Environmental Science from UMass Lowell (Magna Cum Laude), where I have acquired skills and knowledge in Biogeochemical Cycles, Environmental Geochemistry, GIS, Hydrogeology, Soil Science, Wetlands Ecology, and various other fields in Earth and Environmental Sciences. I have experience doing outdoor field work in variable conditions, as well as field data collection and analysis. I am currently pursuing a Masters in Environmental Geoscience at UMass Lowell to further my education. On a more personal level, I have a passion for music and art. I play the violin/fiddle and am in an artist development program where I am learning to compose my own music, and am teaching violin lessons to beginners on the side. I also received a vocational education in graphic design and printing during high school, with experience focused in screen-printing. I plan to share my knowledge of science and environmentalism in the music and art I create.
