About Clara Ross
While pursuing my Master’s degree in Cellular Biology, I have applied a combination of molecular techniques and live cell fluorescence microscopy to examine the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton during oocyte maturation. Throughout my Master’s, I have routinely performed PCR, subcloning, and in vitro transcription to generate mRNA probes for live cell experiments. During Graduate school I have taught biological labs in Cellular and Organism Biology and Natural History of Life, in which I instructed weekly labs and graded student quizzes and lab reports. I have also helped as a teaching assistant in Cellular and Organism Biology Lecture. Additionally I have published DNA/bioinformatics themed a grade school activity that I created during a New Mexico school summer teacher workshop. During my undergraduate I worked on a project to analyze the genetic diversity of the Barren's Top minnow, a threatened species native to the Cumberland plateau of Tennessee.
