I'm an employment law specialist with nearly 25 years' broad experience. I advise on a wide range of employment matters, acting for both employer/respondent clients and individuals, in particular senior executives. A lot of my work involves negotiating exits. I have a particular interest in the family-friendly and flexible working space, including maternity & parental leave, pregnancy and fertility & miscarriage issues. I also regularly help people extract themselves from toxic workplaces, often dealing with bullying, harassment and gaslighting. I always aim to help find a pragmatic, holistic, solution, to help my client move forward and get where they want to be - whatever that looks like for them. I often help employees negotiate their exit from a toxic situation, where they've been treated poorly by their employer. I also work with kind employers who want to treat their staff well, even when difficult decisions are necessary. I think there's a right way to remove someone from an organisation. A bit more of the boring, standard background stuff for credibility. My employment law experience includes drafting and negotiating contractual documentation and staff handbooks; advising on disciplinary, grievance, and performance management procedures; advising on redundancy; advising on proposed terminations including negotiating exit/severance terms and settlement agreements; advising on restrictive covenants and what happens when you leave your job to join a competitor; and dealing with Employment Tribunal claims. I can also advise in relation to corporate transactions, including TUPE matters.
