About Clare Lofthouse

GBV technical specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the humanitarian sector. Over the last year's I have been focussed on how we can best support adolescent girls affected by crossed and displacement. Often invisible in crisis response actions yet facing some of the highest risks to safety and wellbeing, girls tend to fall between services that don't consider their needs and capacities. Drawing from a technical background in GBV and sexual and reproductive health and rights, I am working at Plan to improve our child protection response and better coordinate across sections and agencies to increase service availability and quality. Experienced working with adolescent girls on empowerment programming for the prevention and response to GBV, and in particular tackling the practice of child marriage as a consequence of crises and displacement. Skilled in conducting rapid gender analysis and GBV assessments, delivering quality GBV services including case management and setting up safe spaces. Competent trainer and facilitator with strong project management, research and proposal development capabilities.
