About Clare McGrath

With a BA Hons in English Literature and post-graduate qualifications in HR and Development, I previously managed a team of HR Officers and Administrators with responsibility for providing a full range of services to the Head Office Departments of a major UK fashion retailer (Arcadia). After 10 years in the industry I re-discovered a passion for writing & editing and moved on from HR to provide consultancy services to the investment bank UBS in to 2002 and never looked back. The consultancy role was primarily to support ongoing improvements in their customer communications, and the launch of a new global template for pitches and presentations. This involved supporting Corporate Finance teams to prepare credentials documents according to the new template - also assisted and made recommendations for the development and writing of pitch books and PPT Slide Decks for presentation to clients. Conducted numerous training sessions at all levels of the business from executive level to graduate intake on effective business writing and communicating to clients. Now residing in Piemonte, Italy and working as Scientific & Editorial team manager for VMLHealth. Working alongside our scientific directors in the management and coordination of our 30+ medical writers who are located around the globe. I also manage a team of editors/proofreaders/fact-checkers, within the medical writing dept, to ensure the highest quality is delivered to pharma clients at all stages of document production from initial manuscript to final approved layout.
