About Clare Morrison

I am a conservation biologist with a strong focus on terrestrial ecology/conservation and sustainable natural resource use in Australia and the Pacific. Using a transdisciplinary approach underpinned by effective partnerships with key stakeholders, my research aims to enable inclusive evidence-based decision making leading to demonstrable community and environmental benefits/impacts. Over the last 20 years I have successfully led and/or implemented national and international collaborative research projects in the areas of threatened species assessment and management, conservation prioritization, community and stakeholder engagement, access and benefit sharing, and climate change. My primary areas of interest are terrestrial biodiversity conservation and sustainable natural resource use in Australia and the Pacific. More specifically, these include- threatened species ecology, management and monitoring - conservation prioritization - stakeholder engagement, particularly for conservation action on community-owned land - sustainable forestry, eco/agritourism and other alternative livelihood activities - sustainable agriculture for biodiversity conservation - access and benefit sharing of genetic resources - traditional ecological knowledge - local scientist capacity building I am also an editor, proof reader, writer and scientist. I help individuals and organisations produce high quality, accurate, and interesting information to present themselves and their work in the best possible light. In addition to my own 65+ publications, my skills have contributed to the successful publication of more than 200 journal articles, industry monographs, policy documents, books and 60 postgraduate theses.
