I blend creativity and innovation with logic and business insights; I connect the dots to make projects succeed. From small-town newspapers to news outlets and companies with national reach, I know how to connect with audiences of any size and varying interests and create strategies to make their experience with the product fulfilling, useful, and engaging. Presently, at DAME Magazine, I lead an editorial team that produces stories and products that cuts through the daily news churn with context that matters to readers once they power down their screens. At Upworthy, I led reporting teams through in-depth narrative journalism projects, reaching more than 20 million unique users each month with those stories. And at the Cedar Rapids Gazette, I successfully implemented a newsroom-wide editorial workflow that tripled site traffic through the most pressing news events affecting our coverage area. I prioritize data testing, analytics, and audience research in developing strategies and goals—but also inclusive internal dialogues that put human experiences first.
