About Clare Olone

Clare is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the ARC Centre for Innovations in Peptide and Protein Science (CIPPS) at Edith Cowan University, specialising in Agriculture and Food Proteomics. She completed an Industry PhD in Applied Proteomics in collaboration with InterGrain, ECU, and CSIRO, where her research focused on using mass spectrometry proteomics to enhance our understanding of malt barley grain germination to inform breeding strategies for improved barley varieties.With a strong background in crop molecular genetics from her research at the UWA, including experience in genome sequencing and molecular marker development for selective breeding, Clare is deeply committed to advancing cereal science. Her work is dedicated to improving plant breeding strategies through high-value grain proteomics and integrating proteomic and genomic-assisted technologies to improve crop quality, performance, and sustainability.
