Background
About Clarice Campbell
Clarice Campbell is a passionate young leader in the Australia-Indonesia relationship with expertise in international education, trade development and government relations. Her work in Indonesia specifically focuses on technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and business development where she manages large-scale commercial opportunities through bi- and multilateral initiatives. Through her work, she provides market intelligence by advising on strategy and policy to connect TVET providers with government agencies, industry bodies and education institutions who are seeking Australian-quality education offshore. On top of her experience leading a consortium of government-owned TVET providers to seek opportunities across Southeast Asia she also worked across several trade-focused portfolios such as agribusiness, defence and IT. She was one half of a team that focused on provincial level partnerships between the State of Victoria and the Province of West Java, and she is a go-to contact for research and community connections in the Aus-Indo space. Clarice is an accomplished manager of diverse teams and enjoys working on projects spanning national boundaries, as an example of this she led a bilateral youth association with 170 geographically dispersed volunteers that organise hundreds of events and initiatives annually. Through her involvement in transnational youth organisations, Clarice has collaborated with her colleagues in the youth diplomacy space to establish several project-based teams and a Community of Practice to address key issues and share successes and challenges. Over the years Clarice has received several awards and honours including 'Young Women to Watch in International Affairs' list (2020), Hamer Scholarship (2017) and ‘Best Honours Thesis in Indonesian Studies at Monash University'(2016). She has participated in, presented at and organised a number of high-level conferences, seminars, trade missions and ministerial visits, and has extensive expertise in event and budget management. Clarice is passionate about investing her time to improve the Australia-Indonesia relationship across many levels and relocated from Melbourne to Jakarta. She is a speaker of Indonesian which she first began studying in 2007 and continuously endeavours to expand her knowledge of the country, and its many cultures and peoples.
