As a deputy Middle East breaking news editor at Thomson Reuters, I produce real-time political, energy and financial news alerts and quick updates for a global audience of decision makers in the worlds of business, media and politics. I collaborate with bureau chiefs and reporters in the Gulf and across the wider MENA region, to deliver accurate and timely news that matters. I hold a master's degree in broadcast journalism from the Lebanese University and I have 15 years of experience in news broadcasting, covering political and social developments, mostly in the MENA region. Before joining Reuters, I led a team of producers and presenters at Sky News Arabia - where I primarily handled the production of the six-month-long Expo 2020 coverage - and before that, I worked as an editor at Annahar newspaper. One of my proudest moments in my career so far was when a story of mine led to funding a much-needed surgery for a little Syrian refugee girl. I also have freelance experience as a fixer with foreign journalists, as I speak Arabic, French and English. I am passionate about journalism and its role in informing and empowering people.
