About Claudia Conte

I approached research in Pharmaceutical Technology in 2009 when preparing an experimental work thesis for my master’s degree in Pharmacy. My thesis focused on the development of pulmonary formulations to treat cystic fibrosis. I obtained a European PhD in Pharmaceutical Science in April 2013 supported by a fellowship in the frame of a project financed by AIRC (Italian Association for Cancer Research), at University of Napoli Federico II, Italy, defending a thesis entitled “Core-shell sustained release nanosystems for the intravenous delivery of anticancer drugs”. In these years, my research activity was focused on design, development and technological and biological characterization of micro- and nano-scale drug delivery systems for small drugs and biotech products (microspheres, LPP, polymeric micelles and nanoparticles, polymersomes, lipid nanoemulsions, inorganic nanoparticles.), especially for the delivery of anticancer drugs, photosensitizing agents and nucleic acids. I acquired a remarkable expertises with a wide range of analytical techniques and instruments (HPLC, UV-VIS spectrophotometer, spectrofluorimeter, laser light scattering, photon correlation spectroscopy, MSLI, DPI etc.) as well as with biological assays (MTT, ELISA, gel electrophoresis). I participated at different international conferences and reserch projects.
