About Claudia Decker
Growing up in the coastal town of Annapolis, MD, I have always had a passion for the outdoors. But as I have grown up, I have seen the ecosystems around me decline before my very eyes. This reality is what first inspired me to pursue a career in conservation at Northeastern. Through my work with the Severn River Association to reestablish oyster reefs along the Severn River, I have been able to witness first hand the impact research and further conservation efforts can have on restoring these ecosystems. I hope to continue these efforts as I pursue my Bachelors in Environmental and Sustainability Studies at Northeastern University. I am a passionate a quick learner who is always searching for new opportunities to expand my knowledge and experience in conservation. There is a lot of work to be done to protect these ecosystems and I am eager to work in any way that I can to help propel these efforts in the greater New England area.
