About Claudia Mora

Claudia has been with the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG) since June 2018. She has over 27 years of experience in economic development and financial services. Prior to AACOG, Claudia joined the City of Castroville in March 2016 as the Economic Development Director and Castroville Municipal Airport (CVB) Manager. She began her career with the City of San Antonio, where as an Economic Development Manager she assisted in business recruitment efforts which brought approximately new jobs and spurred an estimated $150 million in investment. She was also instrumental in the development of an economic development master plan for the City and assisted the City Planning Commission in the development of economic development goals for the City of San Antonio’s master plan. Claudia also has over 12 years’ experience working as a senior tax professional in the private sector. As a tax manager with Ernst & Young, L.L.P, she assisted clients with accessing $2 million in job training grant money. During her time at AT & T, Claudia saved the company an average of $13 million annually in tax credits and incentives. Claudia received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from St. Mary’s University where she was a President’s Scholar. She holds a Master of Arts in Urban Studies from Trinity University where she was a HUD Fellow (United States Department of Housing and Urban Development). As part of of the Urban Studies Masters Program, Claudia interned with the City of Leon Valley's Community Development Department where she developed, conducted, and analyzed a survey on City services. In addition, she had a 9-month internship with the City of San Antonio Economic Development Department's Marketing Division where her work included research and data analysis, and the development of a marketing brochure for the department to use in attracting high technology industries. In 2002, Claudia received her Certified Economic Developer designation from the International Economic Development Council, and is in the process of renewing her certification.
