About Claudia Mueller

Dr. Claudia Müller is full professor for Information Systems/ IT for the ageing society University of Siegen. She follows a praxeological and participatory design approach for assistive technologies for older people. Her projects aim at the support and enhancement of social inclusion, mobility and autonomy of elderly people in order to strengthen quality of life and health status in higher age. She is collaborator in the Siegen PraxLabs approach which is based on a praxeological and participatory research paradigm. For IT-design projects in the field of “healty ageing” PraxLabs research follows an approach of social and experience-based learning as a fundament for the development of skills and competences, but also for fostering a positive attitude against new technologies in groups of elderly collaborators.This is the basis for participatory design processes. She is a member of the working group “Alter & Technik” (Age & Technology) of the German Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics e.V. as well as of the Interdisciplinary Geron-tological Research Network (GeNeSi) of the Research Center “FoKos” at University of Siegen Related Projects: Alzheimer Monitoring (GPS-locating system in dementia care, BMWI, 2009-2011, FoSI-BLE (BMBF/EU AAL-JP 2009-2012), Hilfe, Rat & Tat im Quartier (BMFSFJ, 2012-2015)(Help, Advice & and Support in the City Quarter. Cognitive Village (Self-learning systems for ageing at home, BMBF, 2015-2018), SFB 1187 „Media of Cooperation“/ TP A05 ‘The Cooperative Creation of User Autonomy in the Ageing Society’ (2016-2019, German Research Foundation); ACCESS - Supporting digital literacy and appropriation of ICT by older people (2018-2021 BMBF/EU).
