About Claudia Simonte

I work for an inclusive financial system that promotes equal access to safe, affordable and quality financial services to help individuals, families and small businesses to build a better life from a sustainable development approach, focused on financial inclusion for poverty reduction, promotion of gender equality and mitigation of climate risks. As National Director of Financial Inclusion and Social Financing of the Argentine Republic, I designed and implemented strategies to strengthen the financial capacities of the population to close the inequality gaps related to the use, access and quality of financial services and products. We are working on the creation of a monitoring and evaluation system to measure strategic actions and evaluate the impact of financial education programs. We promoted the incorporation of the "Financial Education" curriculum in secondary schools throughout the country, as well as created the training of Referents in Financial Inclusion: financial trainers throughout the national territory that accompany the incorporation of knowledge for the sustainable use of digital means of payment, and traditional financial services. We promote the development of digital means of payment infrastructure, and from the CCIF we promote the implementation of the Transfers 3.0 system so that the Argentine financial system is 100% interoperable, one of the greatest achievements in Inclusion for users and businesses created with responsible technology in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). I worked at Banco Nación, in the design and implementation of the "Comprehensive Financial Education Plan", whose main objective is to extend, democratize and humanize access to financial services. Together with CAF and the Presidency of the Nation, we lead an important international financing with non-reimbursable funds to strengthen the financial inclusion project at Banco Nación. The ILO selected me for the XI Academy of Social and Solidarity Economy, where together with more than 40 representatives from different countries we built a Community of Practice to reinforce the impact of the SSE. The University of San Andrés awarded me a scholarship to participate in the Specialization in Education for Sustainability, the only Argentine program selected by UNESCO. I was awarded a scholarship by CAF - Development Bank of Latin America - to complete the Specialization Diploma in Financial Inclusion.
