About Claudio Contardo
Claudio Contardo is an Associate Professor of Operations Research at the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science at Concordia University. Before joining Concordia, he was a Software Engineer at the IBM Canada Lab as part of the CPLEX Optimization Studio Development team (2021-2022), and an Associate Professor of OR at the UQAM School of Business (2012-2020). Claudio Contardo holds a B.Sc in Mathematical Engineering from the University of Chile and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Montréal. In 2015, he was recipient of the Prize for Excellence in Research at UQAM School of Business among professors appointed since 7 years or less. He also was the recipient and PI of research grants for a total amount of more than CAD. He is a promoter of a critical thinking and the scientific method. He believes that only questioning, skepticism and reproducible science can lead to answers of some of the most profound questions of mankind. Rejecting every dogmatic philosophy is a pillar in this journey to the development of science and technology.
