About Claudio de Lazzari

Claudio De Lazzari graduated in Electronic Engineering (Computer Science in Medicine) at the University of Rome 'La Sapienza'. Since 1987, he is researcher at the Institute of Clinical Physiology (Rome) at the National Research Council of Italy (IFC-CNR). He is Head of "Cardiovascular Numerical/Hybrid Modelling Lab” at IFC-CNR. He is Head of "Telecardiology & Clinical Applications of Numerical Modelling of Biological Systems" Research Unit of the National Institute for Cardiovascular Research (INRC). His main research interest is in the field of cardiovascular and respiratory system numerical/hybrid modelling, e-learning and medical simulation training, telecardiology, ontologies in the field of cardiovascular engineering and numerical stem cell therapy. He authored/co-authored more than 170 peer-reviewed scientific publications including a chapters in books and he edited seven books. He is involved in several national and international projects on computer science in medicine.He acts as project evaluator and reviewer in the UE e-Health and m-Health sectors, “Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft German Research Foundation”, “The Technology agency of the Czech Republic and Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation”, Italian "Ministry of Economic Development” and “Ministry of Education, Universities and Research”. He has served in many "Editorial Board" for several international journals. In 2015 the Board of the University Geomedi (Georgia) awared him the title of Doctor Honoris Causa. Prof. De Lazzari currently teaches Scientific Research Methods at Geomedi University. Actually, he is in the Scientific Council of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Research and he is international supervisor of Master Thesis in the context of “Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering” of the RWTH Aachen University (Germany).
