About Claudio Trocado

I am the Drawing Office Manager at Viva Engineering, contributing 24 years of experience in detailing and draughting. I pursued my career in steel detailing, after obtaining a Diploma in Hi-Tech Project Engineering Draughting in 2002. With a clear vision of exactly what I wanted to achieve and learn, I threw myself into relevant roles at structural engineering and fabricating firms, developing as a detailer and learning how to apply the latest technology to yield high-quality products. I joined Viva Engineering in 2020, bringing my passion and expertise to one of S.A.s biggest turnkey SMPP contractors. With two decades of experience in Tekla Structures detailing and over 11 years’ in a management position, working for both the Cosira Group and Genrec Engineering I bring with me a track record of professional shop detailing and in-depth understanding of the structural engineering and detailing industry. My areas of expertise are: Production efficiency and economy Effective planning, organizing, monitoring and control of production resources Application of technology to shop detailing and structural design processes Constantly evolving the way companies use electronic data to achieve goals Generation and maintenance of Tekla libraries and maintenance of Tekla Structures software One of my greatest achievements is my history with previous fabricators, where I further developed the detailing platform to talk to all CNC machines with zero interface problems. I’m also proud to have been instrumental in transforming the way we do steel fabrication, for finer precision and less human interface. I am passionate about technology and finding solutions that make life in steel fabrication simpler, with better results. When I’m not formulating high-tech solutions, I can be found in the great outdoors, or cycling with my friends.
