About Claudiu Degeratu

Claudiu Degeratu holds a PhD in international relations and European studies. He is an associate professor at the Faculty of History, the University of Bucharest, where he teaches courses on international conflict analysis and diplomatic negotiation techniques in crises. Claudiu Degeratu is a political consultant for a representative in the Romanian Parliament. He was a scientific researcher at the National Institute for the Study of Totalitarianism, Romanian Academy. Between 1997 and 2010, he held various senior management positions within the Romanian Ministry of National Defense, including Director General for defence policy and planning. He was responsible for NATO and EU policies. He was also head of the Defense Section within the Permanent Delegation of Romania at the NATO headquarters in Brussels. His activity focuses on studies on international relations and totalitarian regimes. In 2008, he received the Order of Military Virtue in the rank of Knight, with an insignia for civilians.
