About Clay Gentry

As the Assistant Professor of Marketing at Shorter University, I bring a unique blend of education, real-world experience, and a passion for student success. With an MBA in Marketing from Tennessee Wesleyan University, and a decade-long career in the U.S. Marine Corps, I have developed a strategic mindset, leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence that I carry into the classroom. My career spans both the corporate and nonprofit sectors, including a role as Talent Acquisition Manager for a Fortune 500 company and extensive work with at-risk youth in the nonprofit space. These diverse experiences enable me to provide students with practical insights into marketing, leadership, and business operations. In addition to my teaching role, I’m spearheading the development of a marketing club at Shorter, creating opportunities for students to apply their learning in real-world contexts and build networks that will support their careers.Whether through teaching, mentoring, or professional development, my mission is to equip the next generation of marketing leaders with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed in an ever-evolving business landscape.
