About Clayton Smith

I am a senior product and service design consultant and an experienced delivery lead with over 12 years of public and private sector experience. I have worked on a range of complex, high-profile government products and services, and have a proven track record of leading teams to deliver digital solutions that meet user needs and create business value. For the past 2.5 years I have been the Product Owner of a high-performing multi-disciplinary team of 10+ people. In this role I work closely with senior government stakeholders on Product Ownership, Product Management and Agile Design and Delivery. Working collaboratively across both the strategic and operational leadership spheres has given me excellent exposure and experience in leading discussions and guiding decision-makers on how to best deliver the value required to meet organisational outcomes. I’m passionate about helping government clients improve their digital design and delivery capability and I’m a highly regarded leader and advisor in this industry. I’ve been a guest speaker at the DTA Digital Summit and Awards 2020 and the Department of Immigration and Border Protection’s World Usability Day conference. I was also a service management and service design tutor at the University of Canberra, a member of the UC Business School’s Course Advisory Group, and a mentor and Designer-in-residence at Academy Xi.
