About Cliff Helms

Hello everyone, I am Cliff Helms a Full Stack Software Engineer from the Baton Rouge area. Throughout my professional career I have held down a wide variety of jobs anywhere from retail to the oil industry. But I believe that has made me into someone that is capable of fitting into diverse atmospheres. With that being said, I have gained 15+ years of experience working in high stress team environments and have held several leadership roles throughout my career. As a child I was always intrigued by technology and how it affected the world in a sense. So with curiosity comes exploration. As time went on I would research different video games, computer systems, etc. to expand my knowledge on the things that I was interested in. However, I never really gave any thought into to pursuing a career in the tech field at all when it came to that time in my life. Fast forward to year 2022. I am still that curious person I was years ago but more seasoned and still exploring and learning. Usually I start my day by reading the news or some sort of articles about things that interest me. This is when I came across an article about a shortage in the tech industry for developers. Being the curious person that I am, I started to partake in a little bit of self learning and I really found the process interesting. So after a month or so self learning I decided to make a decision that would change my life. I enrolled in a coding bootcamp named Coding Dojo and it was a awesome, stressful, but rewarding experience. Everyday there was something new to learn and that to me is exciting. With software technologies being ever expanding and improving so there will always be something new to explore. A few months after that I broke into the industry and landed my first job in my new exciting field. My goal from here on will to be to grow everyday with my experience as a developer. So in a nutshell I think it's safe to say that I have found a great home where hard work results in something that is very gratifying.
