I qualified as a chartered accountant in 1985. I spent four year in corporate finance and the capital markets where I developed a disturbing interest in financial derivatives. Having been fortunate enough to work with several people much more talented than myself, I had considerable fun from 1991 to 2010 developing and selling three moderatley successful private businesses. I am currently Chief Executive of NWBF, a £155m NW Investment Fund based in the North West of England. I have four grown up children and have developed a keen interest in red wine and languages. Next year I intend to start learning German and to add it to my Spanish, Italian and French.
