About Clint Corey

I grew up in Reno, NV, where as a kid my life revolved greatly around athletics. I loved cross country running and track, finishing second in back to back years in the national Junior Olympic cross country championships. Although road racing is where I may have been at my very best. According to the ARRS, I would have the record for running the fastest half marathon ever recorded by a ten year old. I also have great memories of competing for the Silver State Striders in the and 1500 meters at the famed Hayward Field every summer in Eugene, OR, at the Track City Classic. Once I got to high school I focused on basketball, where I was a four year varsity letterman. In addition, I was co-captain my senior season, receiving interest from schools such as Stanford, Notre Dame, Minnesota and Harvard. When a fractured ankle derailed my Division 1 basketball playing dreams I enrolled at Arizona State University and still bleed Sun Devil maroon and gold. Soon after graduation I moved to Westwood, CA. enrolling in screenwriting classes at UCLA Extension as well as in the UCLA Professional Program in Screenwriting. Furthermore, I landed an internship at Danny Devito’s Jersey Films. This is the production company responsible for of one of my all time favorite movies, Pulp Fiction. While following my screenwriting dream, I have worked a variety of jobs including bartending and substitute teaching. I am currently certified to teach both high school English and middle school math. However, teaching is on hold as I follow other career pursuits including a screenplay about my days at ASU as well as freelance writing and copywriting. I’ve had bylines in publications such as Complex, HuffPost and Playboy. I have also worked widely in the basketball industry. Stints as a Phase 2 Logger at Synergy Sports Technology, a writer for Dime and as a contributor for the analytics upstart Vantage Sports are all part of my hoops resume. When I’m not working on a script, freelancing or analyzing hoops, I have a multitude of projects I work on periodically, including an animated TV pilot (that also works as a full length feature) and a novel.
