About Clodagh Emoe
Clodagh Emoe is an Artist with a demonstrated history of producing multi-disciplinary collaborative art projects with creative practitioners, thinkers, philosophers, botanists, social geographers and community groups. Her projects have resulted in critically acclaimed artworks including site-specific audio interventions, film installations and participatory events. Emoe’s work has been commissioned both nationally and internationally: Serpentine Gallery, London, Taipei Biennial, Museum of Contemporary Art, Seoul, Nýló, Reykjavik, documenta Kaisel, Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery, Project Arts Centre, IMMA, Visual, Centre for Contemporary Art and Maynooth University. She has initiated socially-engaged collaborative projects that include Mystical Anarchism (2009-2013) with Simon Critchley, Creating the Common/The Unveiling (2010) a theatrical event parodying a failed unveiling of a monument, The Plurality of Existence…/ Crocosmia × (2015-2018) with individuals seeking asylum in Ireland. Clodagh has received awards from the Arts Council of Ireland, Culture Ireland, Dublin City Council, South Dublin County Council, European Cultural Fund and AHRB, UK. She has recently been nominated for the David and Yuko Juda Award UK. Dr Clodagh Emoe is also a Lecturer on the BA Art Programme at IADT and contributes to MA ARC (Art +Research Collaboration). Acknowledging the notion of art as an open process, her research focuses on the relationship between art and philosophy in contemporary art, our encounter with art, the nature of artistic thought, affect, embodied perception and the possibility of contemporary art’s transformative capacity. Emoe’s teaching approach is inclusive, encouraging active and work integrated learning. She has negotiated and facilitated student led projects with IMMA,(Irish Museum of Modern Art) CREATE, Project Arts Centre and NGI (National Gallery of Ireland). She is a Visiting Lecturer for the MA, Art & Process, Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork and was External Assessor BA Fine Art Sculpture, GMIT (2010-2013)
