About Clyde Treadwell

I hold a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning from University Of New England and have worked as a Town Planner since 1987. I held a position within private enterprise at Eckford Johnson Enviroplan from 1987 until April 1994, I was made Associate Director in 1990. During this time I was involved in various projects in a variety of roles from team member to Project Co-ordinator. In April, 1994 I moved into Local Government at Maitland City Council. This role involved predominantly development assessment as well as being involved in the Project Co-ordination of two amending Local Environmental Plans as well as having input into several development control plans. From May 1996 until October 2014 I was employed by Coffs Harbour City Council. This role involved development assessment from 1996 until I became Senior Strategic Planner in and in 2004 I became the Manager of the Council’s Strategic Planning Unit overseeing a team of eight (8). During my time with Council I was a member/representative on the following Council Committees: • Heritage Liaison Committee (Initiated this committee and chaired it until 2005) • Aboriginal Advisory Committee (Yandaarra)(Committee Member from 1997 – 2014.) • Access Committee (Committee Member from 1997 – 2005) In June 2015 I commenced a short term position with the Regional Operations Group of the Office of Environment and Heritage in Coffs Harbour. In 2016 I commenced a contract position with the Sustainable Environment and Economy Section of Byron Shire Council in Mullumbimby, being employed for a twelve month term. I worked full time, as a Planning Officer determining development applications and providing advice to the Council, the community, state government agencies, other local government and contractors on Byron Shire Council’s Planning and Development matters.
