About Codey Smith

Currently I am working at Telstra as a Retail Consultant whilst pursuing IT certifications, focusing on Cyber Security. Previous experience as a full stack Developer at Abodable, I learned how to design and create websites using Ruby on Rails, a skill that I found passion in. I was fortunate to work with a supportive and talented team that taught me the best practices and tools for web development, as well as the importance of user experience and feedback. I was then introduced to the realm of cyber security, through a group "Coding on the Beach" in Noosa. This sparked my interest in becoming a cyber specialist. I recently finished my part-time study At TAFE QLD, Obtaining a Cert 3 in Information Technology with elective units on Cyber Security. I am also pursuing exposure through online courses such CodeAcademy and Hack The Box and will obtain my compTIA cert in Security+ and Network+. I am fascinated by the challenges and opportunities in this field, and I want to gain more knowledge and experience in protecting and securing data and systems. I am also interested in Software and full stack Development, and I have completed a Python course through freeCodeCamp. I am actively seeking internships and entry-level roles where I can apply and expand my IT skills and contribute to meaningful projects as well as work with like minded people.
