I have worked with medically fragile pediatric and young adult patients for 8 years with Nursingale. Services centered around providing in home intensive care while trying to maintain a normal home life. Cares often reflected palliative and hospice like cares. I work with a wide range of ages and medical conditions in a variety of settings including foster homes, schools, and clinical settings. Skills included but not limited to- Patient assessment- Medication administration- Respiratory therapies- Mechanical ventilation- Ventilator support- GT and Trach cares- Trach suctioning- Wound care- Ambulatory services- Rehab- Advocate to the patient- Scheduled appointments- Accompanied patient to appointments- Patient and parent educatorOn top of routine job responsibilities, I also work as a student nurse preceptor and new nurse orientation. I also work as a primary nurse in four different homes in which I was responsible not only for advocating for the client to the administrative team but also maintaining consistent care, managed patient records, and worked as a team leader. Achievements include employee of the month and employee of the year.Prior to nursing, I worked as a volunteer firefighter with my EMT for 2 years.
