About Cody Armstrong
Growing up in Southwest Virginia on my families ranch, I have always had a passion to train horses. Now I look to push myself in all aspects of the dressage discipline, from managing to riding, coaching and showing. I have been managing a prominent dressage barn in Christiansburg Virginia for the last 4 years. I specialize in starting and training the young horses. I believe that a solid foundation allows a horse to excel in dressage. On a daily basis, I enjoy teaching lessons ranging in age from 8 to 45, riding the numerous training horses we have in, and taking my clients to horse shows! Last year, Flanagan Stables became the home of the Virginia Tech Intercollegiate Dressage Associate Team. As the head coach, we qualified for Nationals both as a team of 4 and qualified two individual riders and placed Reserve Champion among 12 other IDA teams across the country. I have successfully earned my Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals along with the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Freestyle Bars. I look to move forward in the future at international competitions with both clients and myself.
