Background

About Cody Atkinson

I am a dedicated advocate for animal welfare and sustainable agriculture, currently serving as the State Director for the Humane Society of the United States. In this role, I identify opportunities to advance animal welfare in Missouri, crafting and executing strategies that mobilize teams and inspire community engagement. Previously, as the National Policy & Political Director at Family Farm Action, I developed strategies to address agricultural sector consolidation and discrimination while fostering diverse coalitions focused on equity in agriculture policy. I am committed to amplifying marginalized voices in policy discussions and decision-making processes. With a Master’s in Public Administration and ongoing studies in Sustainable Agriculture, I combine academic insights with practical experience in managing complex budgets and fundraising. My strengths in clear communication and public speaking enable me to engage effectively with stakeholders, from community members to high-net-worth donors. Recognized as a Soldier of the Cycle and Honor Graduate in the United States Army, I bring discipline and a results-oriented approach to every project. I look forward to connecting with like-minded professionals who share my vision for a more equitable and compassionate world. My hobbies include: spending time in nature hiking and foraging, playing with my dogs, gardening, woodworking, and competing in the sport of strongman. Let’s collaborate to drive meaningful change!
