About Cody Barney

Cody is the Portfolio Manager at Garde Capital, Inc, which provides wealth management solutions to individuals, families, non-profit foundations, and corporate retirement plans in the Pacific Northwest. Cody works closely with the CIO to develop portfolio management and trading strategies that integrate with the firm's overall investment philosophy. He assists advisors with the construction of investment policies and financial plans specifically tailored to each individual client. Cody's role at Garde Capital ensures that each client receives an efficient, customized investment package designed to address all of their long-term investment objectives. Cody began his career in the financial services industry in 2001 when he joined D.B. Fitzpatrick & Co. as a financial analyst and trader. He quickly moved into a portfolio management role where he managed over $500 million of institutional fixed income portfolios for a variety of clients including corporations, hospitals, insurance companies, and the State of Idaho. Cody attended Boise State University where he was selected as the “Outstanding Graduate” in the Finance Department for 2001. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance and went on to earn his CFA Charter in 2004. The CFA Charter is a globally recognized standard of investment analysis issued by the CFA Institute. Cody was named to the Idaho Business Review’s “Accomplished Under 40” list in 2012. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Seattle. Cody is a past Board Member of the CFA Society of Idaho and has held volunteer positions with the Idaho Veterans Home and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho.
