About Cody Clark

I graduated from Luther College in May of 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in Identity Studies and Religion. I specialize in Intersectionality, DEI, Critical Race Theory, Feminist Theory (with a focus on Black Feminist Thought), gender/race/disability studies, and religious studies (with a focus on Indigenous, East, and South Asian religions). I am passionate about social justice, focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion. I strive to create safe spaces where all are welcomed and loved while simultaneously breaking down systemic barriers of oppression and inequity. I have experience working with K-12 youth in a multitude of settings, bringing a lens of compassion and understanding to best support and affirm them for who they are as individuals rather than what society wants them to be. I am proficient in sociological and philosophical fields of study, applying their framework to both professional and personal life, along with the skills of dialogue facilitation, public speaking, and outreach. I am currently working on my senior project, focusing on how comics have used problematic representations of race and gender, and continue to do so, which reinforces oppressive systems of whiteness. Looking through the use of Black Feminist Theory, such as that of Audre Lorde, bell hooks, and Toni Morrison, I examine how we can reconstruct these narratives to break down systems of oppression and embrace ideas of femininity and Blackness.
