About Cody Henrikson
Cody Henrikson is a proud enrolled member of the Ninilchik Village Tribe and of Dena’ina and Sugpiaq decent. Born and raised in traditional Dena’ina territory, Cody grew up in Anchorage Alaska, and on the Kenai Peninsula. Currently Cody attended school at Cal Poly Humboldt double majoring in Marine Biology and Native American Studies with a focus in Natural Resources and the Environment. His professional interests are in marine cultural resources and traditional marine foods of Native Alaskans. His passions for the ocean, food sovereignty, and his tribe has led him to his professional goal of creating and managing mariculture systems in his home state of Alaska for his tribe. Cody hopes that in doing so he may provide economic growth and stability, a source of food sovereignty, and research opportunities for his tribe, community, and all of Alaska.
