Currently, I am an Orientation and Mobility Instructor for Franklin-McKinley School District for SY 2022-2023. I provide orientation and mobility services, specifically on how to travel safely in indoor/outdoor environments, unfamiliar areas, and utilize assistive technology, ocular devices, and the long cane. When I can, I love to support my students with visually impairments in their braille literacy or functional skills when I can. I was a Teacher of the Visually Impaired for Longden Elementary School, a part of the Visual Impairment department at Temple City Unified in SY 2021-2022. I provided instruction in the expanded core curriculum, mostly in: assistive technology, braille, and independent skills. I interned at the Tucson VA Medical Center in Arizona in their Blind Rehabilitation center from April - June of 2021 as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist Intern. I provided services for veterans in orientation and mobility skills as well as the use of assistive technology.
