About Cody Pope

With 12 years of experience in the software industry, I’ve learned that the most expensive code is the code that breaks—or worse, the code that gets breached. I am a full-stack generalist who specializes in high-stakes environments where security, performance, and architectural integrity cannot be compromised. Why work with me: Most "senior" developers focus on shipping features. I focus on shipping resilient systems. Having spent a significant portion of my career building security products, I bring a "Security-First" lens to every line of code, whether I'm architecting a Rust-based microservice or a Next.js frontend. What I bring to your team:Technical Depth: Expert-level proficiency in Java (Spring Boot), Node.js (TypeScript), and Rust for high-performance backend systems.Modern Frontend: Building performant, SEO-friendly, and accessible interfaces using React and Next.js.Security-First Mindset: Deep experience in identity management, encryption, and vulnerability mitigation. I don’t just write code; I protect your data.Immediate Impact: 12 years of experience means I can "plug and play" into your existing codebase, mentor juniors, and contribute to architectural decisions from Day 1.Engagement Models: I am currently available for Staff Augmentation (Full-time/Part-time) and Fixed-Scope Technical Audits. If you need a veteran engineer who can hit the ground running without hand-holding, let’s talk.
