About Cody Reuser

Graduated Oilfield High School in 2002 Enrolled at what is now Mount Royal University in the field of Bachelor of Applied Justice Studies. Completing the 4 year Applied Degree in 2007 2006 as part of a Practicum was hired at Deerfoot Inn & Casino. Began as floor security and eventually promoted into Surveillance role. Remained with Deerfoot Casino until 2008 when I was hired by the Calgary Police Service Began recruit training in Spring 2008, finishing July 2008. Spent the first few years of my career in District 8. Was seconded into a role in the Traffic Response Unit from Fall 2011 Until the Spring of 2012. In Summer of 2012 I took on a role within the Joint Disclosure Unit. Remained with the Joint Disclosure Unit from 2012 until January 2014 when I transferred into 2 District. I remained focused and dedicated on earning a spot with in the Traffic Response Unit. I took several internal courses including becoming a Qualified Breath Technician, Emergency Vehicle Operations and Collision Scene Investigation Level 2. On my own time I took an introduction to Photography through Mount Royal and have continued to explore my new hobby in Photography and photo editing. I also took a basic motorcycle rider training course outside the Service Remained in District 2 from January 2014 till March 2014 whereby I earned a full time position into the Traffic Response Unit where I remain to date. I have studied further internal training including Investigative Skills Education, Standard Field Sobriety Testing (For Drug Impaired Driving Detection), Collision Scene Photography and Leadership Development Training via CPS and the U of C. I have recently completed training to become a Drug Recognition Expert. I am continuing to expand my knowledge in my current position. I am also seeking new learning outside the service in the field of fitness and personal training having developed a desire and passion for distance running, obstacle course racing and overall fitness.
