Extensive experience in operating and troubleshooting GC/GC-MS, UHPLC, and ICP-MS instrumentation. Currently at Santé Laboratories in Austin, TX. I have held positions of Staff Scientist and Laboratory Manager in my nearly three years at the company. Heavily involved in laboratory operations and functionality. Have successfully hired and retained associate-level scientists, managed laboratory budgets, sample flow, and overseen and directed continuing accreditation audits. Successfully analyzed and passed annual proficiency tests for multiple workflows and instrumentation. Thorough knowledge in navigating and troubleshooting Chromeleon software. Experience in UHPLC and GC-MS method development and validation, including developing a method from external client interest to commercial viability. All analyses that I currently perform at Santé Laboratories uses state-of-the-art ThermoFisher instrumentation (Trace 1310 GCs, ISQ Single Quad MS, TSQ Triple Quad MS, iCAP ICP-MS with an ASX-560 autosampler, multiple UHPLC Vanquish Horizon and Flex models), and I am solely responsible for all preventative and routine maintenance associated with our GC/GCMSs, UHPLCs, and ICP-MS. Prior to Santé Laboratories, I worked as a Chemist IV/LIMS Administrator with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Specifically, I was responsible for air quality analysis via GC-MS in addition to helping to troubleshoot SampleManager, our LIMS system, in tandem with ThermoFisher. My industry experience began with working as an environmental chemist for AnalySys, Inc (since acquired by Pace Analytical). I started out in Wet Chemistry and quickly shifted over to semi-volatiles analysis via GC-MS. Here, I was solely responsible for analyzing herbicides, pesticides, PCBs, PAHs, base/neutrals, and acids via scan and selective ion monitoring. This operation involved simultaneously operating 4 Agilent GC/MS instruments at a time, all the while adhering to EPA 625/7250 guidelines. My degree is a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology, with a focus on Pathogenesis and Immunity from The University of Texas at Austin. The degree came with a large chemistry background, work in a Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) laboratory as part of personal, elective undergraduate research, and several upper-level courses in virology, immunology, and disease.
