About Cody Shorter

After spending a few years working for the ATO I took what savings I had and started a business with my now wife Tahlia. Selling gel nail polish of all things. We travelled overseas while running the business and eventually sold this business and over the course of a few years started a few other online ventures in the digital marketing space.They didn't really go that well to be honest - but they supported our lifestyle and we learnt a lot. I had a couple of other freelance and casual jobs to help pay the bills - again in the digital marketing (podcasts, videos, social media, seo). In mid 2018 we opened a Hair Salon in Caloundra. While we really had next to no experience or knowledge in this industry, we were confident that if we applied our skills in marketing and in making clients feel special we could learn the rest on the fly. So that's what we are doing.We moved to Brisbane in early 2019 to pursue full-time jobs to a) learn some new skills, b) pay the bills & c) invest in the Salon. That brings us to today where my official title is Media Coordinator at Foxy Home Staging. To break it down, I make content (videos, images, audio) and post it online (facebook, instagram, youtube, itunes, etc). I then run ads to this content with the goal of growing the Foxy Home Staging Brand. I'm fortunate to work in an environment where I can be myself. I heard a stat recently that some huge percentage (I think over 90%) of people either hate or 'put-up' with their job. That's crazy. I can honestly say I look forward to going to work. Sure, not every day (we all love a day relaxing)- but most days. Anyway, if you'd like to connect for any reason just reach out. Cheers.
