About Cohen Taylor

Narrows High School At Narrows High School, I was the founder of a club that I named Pickup 365. The purpose of the club is to promote and support the well-being of the young community. During club meetings, we often shed light on common teen struggles such as Depression. I use my personal experience as well as the experience of others through videos from successful people for ex. Will Smith. Most importantly, the club reveals that their struggles won't last forever, and it's always possible to overcome them and conquer them. We encourage that those who do conquer their struggles to share their experience to those who need help. During my time at Narrows High School, I also participated in six seasons of Marching Band, my first of which I volunteered to join when I was in my last year of middle school. I also participated in Concert Band for many more years as well. I took two college prep classes in English, and three semesters of Spanish and passed a Personal Finance class. I graduated with a final GPA of 4.030 and obtained an Advanced Diploma. In the summer of my junior year, I took an accelerated 2 month class and became Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT). During the Covid-19 Lockdown in the summer of my senior year, I taught myself Amateur Radio and took the exam provided by the FCC and obtained my Ham Radio Technician License. My Callsign is KO4GOF. Currently Today, I am pursuing my Associates Degree in Nursing at New River Community College to further my experience in the medical field. I'm using the ACCE program funding provided to those in my county, which requires community service to give back the community. This year, I served 100 hours of community service which included lawn keeping at Castle Rock Golf Club and Giles Carilion Community Hospital, and Installing a Floating Floor at Head Start Preschool on Henson Ave in Pearisburg.
