About Colby Major

I was introduced to the game of golf at a young age by my father, and from the start, I developed a strong appreciation for working outdoors. My Turfgrass career began at the course where I first learned to play, setting the foundation for my passion in the field. I further honed my expertise by pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Turfgrass Management from The Pennsylvania State University.During my studies, I had the opportunity to complete internships at prestigious courses, starting with Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, PA, which hosted the Women's U.S. Open during that time. I then advanced to an internship at Wade Hampton Golf Club in Cashiers, NC, where I gained invaluable experience. After graduation, I returned to Wade Hampton Golf Club, where I spent five years learning and contributing to the club’s success. In my current role as Senior Assistant Superintendent at The Kittansett Club in Massachusetts, I am excited to continue applying my skills and passion for turfgrass management, overseeing operations and contributing to maintaining the high standards of the course.
