About Cole Scrivner

I’m a wildlife biologist/ecologist and conservation scientist with a strong foundation in field ecology, environmental permitting, and habitat management. My interdisciplinary background spans private ecological consulting, government wildlife work, and ecological restoration—giving me a versatile, science-based approach to biodiversity conservation and regulatory compliance. My field experience includes wetland delineation and monitoring, habitat assessments for rare, threatened, and endangered species, avian surveys (migratory, breeding, and wintering raptors), herpetofaunal and insect surveys, botanical inventories, and ecological condition assessments. I regularly conduct permitting work aligned with Article 24 (Freshwater Wetlands), Article 15 (Protection of Waters), Section 401 Water Quality Certification, Section 7 ESA consultations, and both Individual and General Permits, including USACE Nationwide Permits. I’ve authored NEPA- and SEQR-aligned environmental documentation and successfully prepared submissions for the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation. I hold a B.S. in Wildlife Management from SUNY Cobleskill and an M.S. in Conservation Biology from Antioch University New England (2025). My Master’s thesis, “Mapping Kirtland’s Warbler (Setophaga kirtlandii) Stationary Non-Breeding Habitat: Characterizing Land Cover within the South-Central Bahamas and Evaluating the Impacts of Sea Level Rise,” applied remote sensing and land cover modeling to identify habitat vulnerability under future climate scenarios. This work reflects my growing focus on climate resilience, spatial ecology, and species-habitat relationships at landscape scales. Earlier in my career, I served as a biological technician in the public sector, supporting long-term species monitoring programs and management planning, as well as a restoration technician specializing in invasive species control and habitat enhancement. I bring strong technical skills in ArcGIS (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, Arc Field Maps, ArcGIS online), spatial data analysis, R, and technical writing. I’m committed to delivering science-based, practical solutions—whether through fieldwork, regulatory review, or multi-stakeholder collaboration. My work is guided by ecological integrity, sustainability, and a passion for conserving biodiversity across working landscapes and natural systems.
