About Colette C. Bauer

I've worked with a variety of people both locally and abroad. In each experience I have, there is one guiding theme: to understand the individual. My mission is to heal whether that be through behavioral therapy, counseling, or simply a calming and caring presence. This involves two key aspects: learning and practicing. I started professionally at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Autism while working on my undergraduate degree. This was an amazing experience in which I studied under some of the top researchers and therapists in Cleveland to start developing my understanding of ABA and ASD. From there, I worked at Ravenwood Health to assist with the development of a pilot program that focuses on "at risk youth" ages 4-7. Wanting to experience something much different, I relocated to Milan, Italy to work as an Au Pair for one year. My main objective was to work closely with families to understand how cultural differences play a role in family dynamic and mental health. I learned a lot during my time in Milan and was eager to bring a broader perspective back to Cleveland. Since I've returned to the States, I've had many opportunities to work and volunteer with people across all ages and abilities. I spread my time between aiding families affected by Autism, using my behavioral therapy skills, volunteering with end of life care at Ohio Living Hospice, and taking on many additional roles to supplement my experiences. I am eager to begin the next chapter of my professional life in Raleigh, North Carolina where I can continue my theme of understanding and healing working at Mariposa School for Children with Autism.
