About Colette Vickers

Numbers and learning new technology have been passions of mine that blossomed when I begin working for the Small Business Development Center in college. As an undergraduate, I was given the same responsibilities as graduate students. I was able to meet with clients to help them build a business plan. It was an honor to see these startup opportunities turn into realities. I also learned enough HTML to update and redesign the center's website. From there, I begin working in Pittsburgh for a regional accounting firm when the opportunity at Clarion Forest VNA opened up. I grew as a person in this position as well as growing the position, as I was the first person to have a business degree in this role. In order to be successful, I knew as a 23 year old CFO that I would have to apply what I had already learned, plus put my research skills to work. I have developed strong networking skills with my peers throughout the home health and hospice industry. During my time at CFVNA, I have streamlined processes in the business office, obtained grants to computerize all staff, found ways to save the agency money and put it back into patient care, was a part of the task force that built our new office building in 2010-2011, and advocated and hired the agency's first human resource professional. I also went back to school and obtained my MBA. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my children and watching them grow into young adults, playing music in a bluegrass band, golfing, riding motorcycles with my friends, hiking, and traveling.
